Triodos Bank

Bringing a brand system to life

Triodos Bank launched a new European brand identity to reflect its role as a bank that connects people, money and positive change. The identity was developed by Multitude as creative lead agency, creating a flexible system that works across four countries and dozens of touchpoints.

I joined the project during the development phase of the identity, contributing primarily to motion design and the behavioural layer of the brand.

While the logo and core system were already established, much of the work focused on how the identity acts in real situations. Motion became a key ingredient in expressing the Triodos ecosystem: elements responding to each other, colours shifting between brand scales, and visuals forming temporary constellations across digital and campaign contexts.

My role centred on translating the visual system into motion principles and practical applications. This included developing animation behaviours, exploring how brand elements transition and interact, and helping define how the identity can move consistently across digital products, video, social content and presentations.

Beyond animation itself, the work touched on the subtle details that shape brand behaviour: pacing, rhythm, transitions and the balance between calmness and energy that characterises the Triodos tone of voice.

The result is a brand that doesn’t just exist as a static design system, but one that can adapt and respond across channels while maintaining a recognisable character.
